How It Works

You will get thirty minutes and a secret ingredient. The secret ingredient won't be given until 15 minutes before the start of the thirty minutes.

Within the thirty minute time frame, you must write a complete One Shot of any genre, pairing, length etc. of Twilight FF.

Winners will be determined by a public vote and point system. Entries will be anonymous.

What Will the Secret Ingredient Be?

Who knows...Maybe a phrase. Or a specific character saying a line. Or a place. Or a description. Or an article of clothing. Something that will be easily identifiable.

1. You must use the Secret Ingredient at least once in your story.

How to Play

1. The Entry Form URL will be emailed out to all Challengers at sign up and the day before the challenge.

2. On the day of the challenge, the link to the secret ingredient will be tweeted 15 minutes before the actual start of the challenge.

3. You have fifteen minutes to brainstorm before the thirty minutes begin.

4. You may submit your entry at any time within the thirty minute time frame. Any entries submitted before or after, will not be accepted.

5. The entries will then be up for a public vote on TwiNet's FFn Account.

The Point System

1. Every time you mention the secret ingredient in a way that makes sense, you will get 2 points. Random spouts of said secret ingredient do not count.

Example: If the secret ingredient were: I love hot dogs!

Acceptable:

"What would you like to order, Emmett?" Rosalie asked.

"I love hot dogs!" Emmett screamed. "I want one of those!"

Not Acceptable:

Bella's intense gaze was locked onto mine. This was the moment of truth. I had just thrown the ball into her court. She would either respond happily, and I would walk away a happy man, or not so happy, and I would leave crying. Her lips opened, and I held my breath, waiting for her to speak.

"I love hot dogs!"

2. You may not name a person, place, or thing, after the Secret Ingredient. If you do, you will not get any points for it.

3. You may use the Secret Ingredient in the narrative or as a dialogue.

4. Every vote you get in the public vote is worth 1 point.

The Prize

1. The title: Iron Pen.

2. A banner made by Rachel Michelle's Banners.

3. A feature on the Twi Network blog.

4. Your OS edited in a timely manner by 2 Project Team Beta Moderators.

5. Bragging rights!

Requirements

1. You don't need to be an author of TwiNet, but you do need to be following our Twitter account. The link to the secret ingredient will be tweeted at exactly 2pm PST.

2. There is no word count minimum or maximum.

3. Obviously we aren't looking for perfectly beta'ed pieces, but there is a thing called Spell Check and copy & paste.

4. If you aren't 18 years or older, your entry must be PG13 or lower.

5. Collaborations are accepted...if you can write a collaboration piece in thirty minutes, major kudos to you!

6. Pre-writes are not allowed! When you come to the challenge, you must start off with a blank slate.

* Emergency Beta Services will be standing by during the Challenge to answer all your grammar and plot questions!

Tips for Winning

1. Come with some sort of plot in mind. Don't just show up and have no idea what to write. You only get thirty minutes!

2. Make sure said plot is somewhat open. You won't know what the secret ingredient is, so an open plot where you can easily slip the secret ingredient in, is a plus!

3. Formatting does not show up when you submit your entry. If you have italics or such in your story, offset it using * or something of the such, so that you don't waste any time in the end.
